Kanye West - Runaway: Genius.

N.B. I strongly suggest you play this in HD and fullscreen.

Wow. It's difficult to sum up those last 34 minutes of my life. Genius. Artistic. Spectular. Beautiful. Considered. Gorgeous. Surreal. Perfection. Never have so many hyperboles been so rightfully used in my opinion. We all know that Kanye wants to push boundaries on and off the field and has done so to great commercial and critical accliam, and sometimes disgust. But you cannot deny him his dues on Runaway. It is clearly his masterpiece. His child. His love.

The video stars the utterly gorgeous, former Victoria Secret model Selita Ebanks as "The Pheonix" (sic), who crashes down to Earth only to be saved by Kanye. Many tracks, mostly from the GOOD Fridays collection accompany the simply stunningly gorgeous visuals from deer, to The Pheonix herself, to explosions to fireworks. The Pheonix tries hard to adapt to the Earth ways, learning how to hold fine china, playing with sheep and how to behave at all black dinner parties served by all white staff. You know, the normal stuff. At the dinner party title track Runaway is played out in full, accompanied by a flock of black tutu-ed dancers to wonderful effect.

However the dinner party is brought to a quick end when a huge bird is served as the main course. Error. As Kanye tells Pheonix that he wants her to stay with him, she says that Earth's statues are Pheonixes that have had their wings pulled off. Then Pheonix says something that we all know that Kanye couldn't agree with more: "What's the one thing I hate most about this world. Anything that's different you try to change". The Pheonix then burns to leave Earth as Kanye runs to try and stop her.

Not to go over the top, but this is genius. Simply stunning. Enjoy.
