Merry Blooming Crimbo!!

Well excited! 4 fricking days! Well good! I'm back home now, which is nice, but as much as I love my little village and my house, its pretty boring, especially without a car. I was back in Bournemouth for a few days to work, and then went to Jordans house last night which was cool, just like the old days when we pretty much lived there, his parents LOVED it. lol. We had some MEGA hot chocolates, cadburys powder, milk, whipped cream, herseys white chocolate drops and mini marshmallows. I felt sick. Soooo worth it. Then we watched a film called The Fall, aesthecially quite pleasing and an understandable film (although no one seemed to believe that I knew what was going on because I'm an idiot) but just a bit pointless. Not very engaging. But then we decided to go to my woods, Black Lane Woods (so named because of the burial of all the local people that died during the black plague - apparantly). So yeah we wondered round the woods, came across a statue, walked through an estate home's grounds and then through the forest some more, all whilst Jordan cried. Ok, well not literally, but he was scared of....I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT.

I meant to be working today on my assignment, its on the how motivational research can help car manufacteurs can understand the buying decisions of their customers. Yeah, exactly. Where the hell do I start? This is when I need my trusty housemate Becki to tell me what to do, Ill call her later, she'll love it! And hopefully later I can get back to Bournemouth to go to 60 million postcards for my friend Oilvia's birthday. Although me and my amigo Jake have no cars and no money. Should be interesting. But this assignment can fuck off.

So yeah what else have I done this week...seen Rose a bit, sparking all sorts of rumors at work, got the new Fall Out Boy album, which is surprisingly good. I was pleasantly surprised, I can imagine I might get bored of it though, just like Infinity On High but I'm enjoying it now. Not as much as I enjoyed a drunk Rob Deacon trying to sing the entire FOB discography on a walk back from town at 3am. What a kid.

I really need to update this old boy a bit, I will try I promise, my life just isn't interesting lol. So yeah I'm just going to pretend to do my assignment whilst flicking through every genre of music on my ipod (I've just gone from Ladyhawke to RJD2 to FOB) and then try and get to Bournemouth for cake and drinks.

Oh yeah and MERRY CHRISTMAS if I don't update before. Enjoy!

Ramblings...

Right I'm back, have no fear! Had a busy few days, well I say busy, but I mean student busy. I've got shit loads of work to do for next Friday, then it's Christmas! How exciting! (Well as exciting as doing a consumer behaviour assignment over Christmas can be) I'm not too stressed at the moment for this Friday deadline, I'm sure you'll all be glad to know mainly just because I'm ahead of a lot of people on my course, which is good, but I've got A LOT to do! I'm just waiting for people to email me back telling me about rate cards and reach demographics and other such boring things.

My friend Jake said that I should find a topic or a direction "for my dick" - Jake, for my blog, a more suitable end to the sentance I think. So.... yeah I have no idea. Theres a lot of areas that interest me, but I don't feel I have enough expertise to justify talking to you about them. So for the time being I'll just keep it general bullshit if thats alright with you?

Yesterday I was hanging. We went to Southampton to celebrate my friend Zak's "Rebirth". Due to almost putting himself in hospital most nights, Zak decided not to drink for 2 months, and very impressively he did so! But I'm pretty sure I drunk more than him on that night. It was a fun night, obviously nothing to do with the alcohol, the club, Reflex, was pretty shit, but I enjoyed myself none the less. There you Zak, I've mentioned you. Now stop warming your feet on my heater!

But it was made better by my friend Rose (who had never had a Subway, Facebook or seen Superbad before I introduced them all to her in one day - what a day for her!) came over and we got pizza :)We also all watched Burn After Reading, the new Coen Brothers' film. I havnt seen a Coen Brothers' film before (yes I know, shame on me), but it was good! The title from Shakespeares play "Much Ado About Nothing" came to mind, the story being about some people that work in a gym found a CD with someones memoirs on it and tried to blackmail different people, namely the Russians, to pay for this women's cosmetic surgery. An obvious storyline I thought.

I like Katy Perry's new song. Wtf.

Watched Louis Theroux's documentary "Law and Disorder in Philadelphia" last night. Really good, a big fan of Louis. I like the way he's quite niave to a certain extent, not being afraid of asking people questions he probably shouldn't, which I think makes him all the more approachable for people who usually would talk to journalists. He's done a lot of documentaries, I really want to watch some more, the Nazi one I'm interested in. The one last night did not tell me anything I didn't know about America, it's pretty fucked up. The country is too big. It needs to be governed better, everyone needs to be accounted for and thought about. And I mean Americans. Not people in the Middle East. In my opinion, America should sort out themselves before they go charging around the world. Don't get me wrong, I love America, its so diverse, incredible and fascinating, but I've been to the "nice" parts, not that I would really want to go to the rough neighbourhoods, but then I expect people don't want to go there when they live there. A point that made me scared last night was drive-bys. WTF? Just going to shoot random people, for no reason, in cold blood. That is twisted and scares the hell out of me.

Thank you for reading this, because I do relise it is complete bullshit (much like my ramblings the other night) but I hope you find it interesting to some extent. It has distracted me from doing work, even though those stupid people still havn't emailed me back! Grr!

Sweaty Sloppy Seconds...

I say sweaty because I am. Just got back from a gig in Southampton, it was New Found Glory (pretty good, sweaty and old-school), supported by Set Your Goals (pretty crappy), Four Year Strong (pretty awesome) and Crime In Stereo (also pretty crappy). We also went to a pre-party at a little pub with a couple of local bands playing, Mimi Soya (only caught the last song but seemed solid) and Lost On Landing (a favourite of mine, so I enjoyed it!). Best bits being Steve, who broke his foot about 3 weeks ago, leading us all into circle pits and loving it. As well as parking in Toys 'R' Us because it was free and then finding that they had pulled up the little metal pole things to stop people getting out. GREAT. So after a few laps of the car park, along with about 5 other cars in a similar pickle, we spotted a gap in the hedge, and after another braved it through, so did we!

I'm not really sure how often I should update this little old thing, but baring in mind the few people that read it, and didn't completly take the piss (which is very likely with certain people I know, JAKE! INE!) and then some even asked me to write it again, so here I am in bed, with my little heater warming up my room, entertaining the masses. I guess I'll try and keep it fairly regular, I imagine it'll probably be something I do just before I go to bed, much like now. So please excuse the ramblings, spelling mistakes and grammar errors (what would my A Level English Language teacher, Mr Pover, say now?!).

Another thing I was wondering was about how much information you go into in a blog. I think that I'm generally a pretty open guy about most things, and generally like talking about myself, so I doesn't bother me too much. But in a normal situation, you usually know who you are talking to, however in a blog, you're talking to anyone! I could write something I don't want my housemates to read, my best mates, ex-girlfriend (still a delicate area), parents or family. So what do I write? Nothing. Settled. I guess I just have to be a bit clever when I write it, but I obviously want to make it worth reading, interesting, so that you get to know me, what I do and what I think.

Also I think I need to get a few more people reading this (because it's obviously so great and everyone needs it in their lives, obviously...), so I'll put a link in status on Facebook. I suppose its kind of embrassing to do a blog, a bit geeky, also I'm letting a lot of people in, to a certain extent, but I guess if no one reads it it's relitively pointless.

A quick bit about my day, then I'm off to bed: Pretty much finished my CMR (Communications and Marketing Research) assignment today, and its due for Monday, aren't I good?! It's a research proposal into looking at has David Beckham's credibility as a product endorser been affected by multiple product endorsements? if you'd like to know. I'm pretty worried it's not very good, and as this year counts towards our final grade at the end of next year, I want to do well. Also had a couple of lectures and a seminar (with the fire alarm going off - a situation I always assumed would be more exciting!) and then my friend Rosannah came over for lunch, which was nice because I hadn't seen her in a while. And then I went off to the gig.

So that's me done for tonight, I'll just leave you with this video, as this song came on on the way back in the car (it was on random, and it wasn't my ipod). What a tune!

Enjoy.

Popping the cherry as they say...

Right...so yeah hi!

I don't really have much of an idea where this blogs going to go, but I'm sure it'll be enjoyable along the way! I guess I should probably start it by talking a bit about myself..thats generally where most conversations with me go. My name's Jamie Watson, or "Jammy" I guess. I'm 19, live in Bournemouth, on the south coast of England, I'm studying Advertising and Marketing Communications, at Bournemouth University. To be honest, I'm pretty standard. My life revolves mostly around seeing my friends, listening and finding new music, watching/playing sport, predominatly football. I'd probably say I'm as much of an idiot as I am sensible, and I wouldn't recommend taking half the things I say seriously, so I guess that means don't read my blog...

So yeah (I say yeah a lot too, with a lot of exclamation marks too, I apologise in advance for that!) what to write... I'm guessing I'm writing this to avoid doing work. But hopefully something wonderful and beautiful will develop from it! My Norweigen housemate Ine (www.inesverden.blogg.no - yes its in Norweigen, bust still!) writes one, my friend Jordan attempted vlogging (www.youtube.com/user/iolaus2563 - I probably wouldn't recommend watching those, actually I would they're genius!) and then probably about 34,643,628 more people have written them, them all writing something individually the same. And here I am number 34, 643, 629. I'll probably just ramble on (just as I'm going now, and in most of my assignment that I've done today) about what a do each day, things going through my mind, different music, photos/videos I find. I don't claim to know vast amounts about many things, but I'll tell you what I think anyway.

So if I'm going to talk about music and photography, I can't really start without mentioning, that I'm an incredible musician and photography. I'm not. But a couple of my friends are pretty talented, so give them a looky please! George Sanderson (www.myspace.com/georgesanderson), he's a singer/songwriter, he's just recording his debut album, and hopefully he'll start gigging soon, because that will be pretty exciting. And Jake's pictures (www.jakebaggaley.com), already had some stuff published, but its really good!

So (I've started every other paragraphy with it, so I didn't want to leave this one out) I'm guessing that'll do for now, hope that was alright...
