I try not to post 'Youtube hits' on here, but this is too awesome and I'm too obsessed.

OK Go: All Is Not Lost.

In a music industry that seems to churn out the same old rubbish time, it's nice to have those that are willing to push the boundaries and do something different. It's called evolution. OK Go are definitely one of those bands. Their music videos have always been a bit of fresh air, whether they've been dancing on treadmills, creating massive dominoes sets in a warehouse, or playing with cats, dogs and buckets.

Their latest song All Is Not Lost, really is something cool. Unlike the very glitchy video from Arcade Fire, OK Go are one of the first bands to use HTML5 to great effect. You can watch the video below, however I fully suggest you open the website up in Chrome to experience in full glory. Plus you get to enter your own little message:

The band have teamed up with critically-acclaimed dance troupe Pilobolous for another eye-popping foray into the limits of video technology in the shape of a human kaleidoscope. Enjoy.

MTV: Balloons.

Just when you thought MTV were sitting around trying to come up with how they get a problem out of Kim Kardashian's left nipple or which dried up celebrity's house they can fill with cameras next, they were actually doing something pretty cool.



We've all sat there and created our own flick book out of the corner of our notebook whilst bored at work or in a lecture, or to simply avoid what really needs doing. But it's the boys and girls of MTV that took this form of procrastination to a whole new level.



Take some balloons, some water transfers, a pretty skilled artists, a whole lot of patience and attention to detail, and you're starting to see the scale and absurdity of this operation. Oh, did I forget the machine on tracks with the giant pin and camera attached to it?

Yeah this is cool MTV, let's see some more like it.

Parenthood From American Apparel.

There is a lot to hate about American Apparel, their overpricing of basic garments, their selection of staff, or the head being accused of sexual abuse and exploitation. But since when did fashion care about moral issues? Just so long as I look good right?

But there is hope. This ad is definitely something to love about American Apparel. Something that AA always manage to succeed in is looking cool, and with their kids range the entire family can look pretty darn suave. This short shot by Tony Kelly and gives me inspiration to raise my kids as cool as these.

A Love Story: Splitscreen.

I couldn't have said it better myself:

At the Edinburgh Film Festival this past weekend, Nokia held a screening for the eight finalists of its Nokia Shorts Competition. With more than 600 entries and a $10,000 grand prize on the line, the competition produced some surprising results. Nothing was quite as impressive, however, as the film shot by winner J.W. Griffiths. His two-and-a-half-minute short entitled “Splitscreen: A Love Story” was shot entirely on his Nokia N8 mobile smartphone, and takes viewers on a split-screen journey through two of the world’s most iconic and romantic cities. Watch for yourselves to see why Griffifths’ film took home the prize.

Blanketly Blank.

There appears to be little other point to this Dear Blank, Please Blank project other than to make people laugh, and there's nothing wrong with that. In an age when we're exposed to so much of everything thanks to the internet I often find it a struggle to actually find something that geniuely provokes a bit of emotion online, kind of the point of Village Boy. But this series really does amuse me, let me share.

Va Va. Voom?

Remember Va Va Voom? Remember Thierry Henry now that I come to think of it? Well Thierry is back and his Va Va Voom is coming along with him. I really like this advert, everything about it. It's cool. The typeography, the lighting, the people in and the overall style, it's just cool.

Wizard Smoke

This is VERY cool. Especially in 720p. A group of skaters cover themselves in chalk dust from head to toe and then took to their boards. Some epicness continues.



Just imagine how long they had to clean themselves and their clothes.

Beautifully Badass.

This is incredible. It’s a suitcase - perfectly fitted for a bottle of bourbon and a set of brass knuckles. The outside says, “Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. Sack up.” The inside offers, “The two roads to courage.”

Being Creative: "The Ability And Urge To Make Something Of Value"

This little video is truly beautiful. There's two reasons to this post, the first being that this concept phone looks very cool, whether it's possible to make is another question.

The second is more important to me, the voice-over, or more importantly, what the voice over says. Make sure that you take your time to listen to the words being spoken over this video. For me, much of these ideas are applicable to advertising, doing something different and looking to entertain and inspire. But they can go so much further than that, it is easy to apply them to life in general.

Look and listen.

These two videos are created by Alex Roman, a man clearly a huge amount of time, but with an even huger amount of talent. These videos are stunning and beautiful. They are also 100% CGI. I'm still not sure if I believe it, but I've read that it's true. The first is an ad for kitchen sinks or something. The second is just epic. Just enjoy (and shut your jaw).

Madbury Club A/W Lookbook: Mad Props.

For a while now I've been following the online magazine/blog/content produced by Phillip Annand, under the title The Madbury Club. It's hard to define the site and it's content. Some posts are just a few wonderful images, some have crisp words upon them, some are of parties you wish you were at, some are of adventures you wish you had been on. There's music, fashion, stories, recommendations and then some. But all in all it's just very lovely. A lot of lovely images and lovely words.
