T-Mobile: Improv Pros

T-Mobile have followed up their wonderful flash mob at Liverpool Street station and the a bit rubbish mass sing alongs with some more lovely improv in a if-it-aint-broke-dont-fix-it style. This time they decided to welcome back passengers at Heathrow Airport in an accapella style. Despite this just simply being a cool idea, I think it was a great idea to use an airport, what's the first thing you do when you land? Turn your phone on. Smart.

Although this is a great idea and well executed, I think they might have seen it somewhere before:

I think the French did it better. For once.

Madbury Club A/W Lookbook: Mad Props.

For a while now I've been following the online magazine/blog/content produced by Phillip Annand, under the title The Madbury Club. It's hard to define the site and it's content. Some posts are just a few wonderful images, some have crisp words upon them, some are of parties you wish you were at, some are of adventures you wish you had been on. There's music, fashion, stories, recommendations and then some. But all in all it's just very lovely. A lot of lovely images and lovely words.

Here's a short film that captured the filming of their A/W lookbook, found here, to give you a little insight into what it's all about.

Go check it out, you won't regret it.

Boysen: Don't Paint Animals

Below are some incredible print ads from a Phillippese paint company Boysen. These adverts do not just include amazing execution to create stunning visuals, they also come with a message. Boysen is the only paint accredited with Responsible Care, the global voluntary initiative to improve a product's safety and environmental performance, which is nice. Sometimes incredible visuals lose messages of a campaign or a company, but this manages to include both, well done.

Kanye West - Runaway: Genius.

N.B. I strongly suggest you play this in HD and fullscreen.

Wow. It's difficult to sum up those last 34 minutes of my life. Genius. Artistic. Spectular. Beautiful. Considered. Gorgeous. Surreal. Perfection. Never have so many hyperboles been so rightfully used in my opinion. We all know that Kanye wants to push boundaries on and off the field and has done so to great commercial and critical accliam, and sometimes disgust. But you cannot deny him his dues on Runaway. It is clearly his masterpiece. His child. His love.

The video stars the utterly gorgeous, former Victoria Secret model Selita Ebanks as "The Pheonix" (sic), who crashes down to Earth only to be saved by Kanye. Many tracks, mostly from the GOOD Fridays collection accompany the simply stunningly gorgeous visuals from deer, to The Pheonix herself, to explosions to fireworks. The Pheonix tries hard to adapt to the Earth ways, learning how to hold fine china, playing with sheep and how to behave at all black dinner parties served by all white staff. You know, the normal stuff. At the dinner party title track Runaway is played out in full, accompanied by a flock of black tutu-ed dancers to wonderful effect.

However the dinner party is brought to a quick end when a huge bird is served as the main course. Error. As Kanye tells Pheonix that he wants her to stay with him, she says that Earth's statues are Pheonixes that have had their wings pulled off. Then Pheonix says something that we all know that Kanye couldn't agree with more: "What's the one thing I hate most about this world. Anything that's different you try to change". The Pheonix then burns to leave Earth as Kanye runs to try and stop her.

Not to go over the top, but this is genius. Simply stunning. Enjoy.

Pamela Anderson: Not A Piece Of Meat

Here's the always rather lovely Pam Anderson fronting the latest campaign for those vegi-types PETA. It's a simple and effective idea, with a women in a bikini, always a winner.

Shad - Yaa I Get It (Muneshine Remix)

Yaa I Get It was by far the most aggressive, energetic and just generally hugest (new word) track off of TSOL, yet this production by Muneshine, it's a totally different beast. The beat he gave it couldn't be any more different from the original, it's laid back, it's old-school, there's horns. And it works. Some lovely flavours in the remix.

Willow Smith - Whip My Hair

This girl is 9 years old. 9. NINE. From her somewhat unoriginal name, you can probably guess that her Dad is the Fresh Prince himself, Will. This track has got balls, if you forgive the lyrics, this is no nice High School Musical stuff from the little one, it's massive. It seems to sit somewhere inbetween Rihanna and MIA, and that is no bad thing.

And in a non-pedophilic way, this girl looks amazing for a 9 year old. That hair, the clothes, the poses, the attitude. Love it.

California Wives - Bloody Red Youth

Everytime this track starts I think it's a Death Cab song, but it's not. Not by a long shot. California Wives seem to be Chicago's answer to Pheonix with their pop synths, upbeat choruses and lazy lyricist. Great tune, looking forward to more stuff from this band.

VW: We're All The Same. True.

VW have constantly pushed themselves away from the crowd in terms of the standard of their advertising. Though this ad is far from groundbreaking it taps into the human truth that, at the end of the day, we're all the same. Ish.

In a world when being different is constantly strived for, and rarely achieved, it's nice to be told that it's ok to be normal.

Did You Mean Google?

The ever-knowing Google have produced this latest line of adverts, showing that they cater their search engines towards retards who can't type. Still, they're funny and simple.

Audi Lights It Up

A stunning couple of ads from Audi highlighting (no pun intended) the power of their new headlights. It's stunningly simple with wonderful execution.

The Crusty Challenge

This campaign is not only a great example of an integrated advertising, it is also very innovative. And interesting. And wrong. Scroll down to find out more:

Told you, bizarre.

Kanye West - Runaway

Earlier this week Kanye West premiered his new music video in Paris. I say video, it's more along the lines of a short film at 40 minutes long. It is officially the longest music video, beating music video king Michael Jackson by 29 seconds, and Gaga by 29 minutes. Suck on that.

Here's Kanye introducing it and some clips from it, looks incredible and beautiful. I'll try and get the full 40 minutes up on here when it's out and if possible.

Music Tuesday 23.

A day late as I didn't get back from a weekend of surfing until yesterday afternoon and it was fair to say every inch of my body had been destroyed by the waves.

Kanye West Ft Bon Iver - Lost In The World

The first pairing of these two was on Monster, although it could be fair to say that Bon Iver got slightly lost beneath the orgy of artists on that track. However now it's just the two of them. It's brave, for the both of them. Although it works. Kanye of course, decided to use Bon Iver's only auto-tuned track, Woods and added his own influence to the track. Give it a chance.

Alexisonfire - Dog's Blood

After completely rinsing their back catalogue and newest album, Young Cardinals, over the past few months it is nice to have something new from the Canadians. This is the title track from their forthcoming EP, and I like it, a lot. There's only live versions at the moment, so a recorded version will need to be given a chance too. From the first few listens it sounds like they're going back a stage to their slightly more post-hardcore roots, but using continuing brilliance of Dallas' voice to full effect. Very, very nice.

Kid Cudi Ft Cage - Maniac

Hopefully this video stays up. This is my favourite track that I have heard from MOTM2. You get Cudi's familiar stoned, yet articulate ramblings over a lovely, steady beat, accompanied by a female voice.

Kings Of Leon - Pyro

Another gorgeous track from the new album. And yes the style is going backwards, only a good thing.

Adidas: Just Bizarre.

Here's Adidas' new spot, featuring a couple of basketballers and the Asian guy from The Hangover. Yeah it's just plain weird, BUT GENIUS.

Two stunningly impressive print ads from WWF, both in terms of execution and message. Simple and powerful.

Kings of Leon - The Immortals

It looks like The Immortals will "the slow song" off of new album Come Around Sundown, and yet another sign that they might be sneaking back to the old stuff with their new found fanbase. It's a lovely track, not the best or most beautiful that they have produced, but still a nice listen.

Ray Davies & Mumford & Sons - Days/This Time Tomorrow

This is lovely combination of Mumford & Sons with Ray Davies, aka The Kinks' frontman. The Mumford boys are offering this controbution to Davies' new solo album, and the combination is simply wonderful. It's nice to hear something a bit new from M&S after listening to Sigh No More a million and one times. Also check out their trip to India and the EP they released with Laura Marling and the Dharohar Project, it's weird but very wonderful, with an excellent documentary of the trip on Youtube.

Chiddy Bang - The Good Life

Chiddy Bang's new album The Preview leaked this week, and although there's some great new tracks on it, see above. But there's a good few tracks off of The Swelly Express, on what is a relatively short album. The new tracks are good, but really don't live upto the genius of Truth or Opposite of Kids.

Kanye's Corner
Kanye West ft. Jay-Z, RZA, Pusha T, Swizz Beatz & Cyhi The Prynce - So Appalled

Kanye West ft Kid Cudi, Pusha T, John Legend, Lloyd Banks & Ryan Leslie - Christian Dior Denim Flow

No-one quite knows if Kanye has finished with his GOOD Friday phase of giving away a free track every Friday, each one with more artists on it than before, but as I said before, I don't think anyone is complaining. Head to Kanye's website to download them all for free. Let's just hope he lets all these rappers have some time to produce their own stuff, especially Kid Cudi.

Feeling like a Virgin?

After the hugely successful Red Hot advert, Virgin Atlantic have come back with another certain success. The ad, featuring Muse, is super sexy, super James Bond-y and super cheesey, yet they pull it off in the same way they did with Red Hot. Few other brands could. It's got every thing from milky isles to men pole-dancing on giant forks with prawns on the end, what more could you want?

Pull in to Breathe in.

This, the Gold award for the DM category by Ads of the World, is simply genius. Love it:

That is all.

Nike: Just Do It, Anywhere.

This is the sort of campaign that few brands could get credit for, and build a positive buzz around it. And Nike are one of them. It is not clear whether they are actually going to be implemented, but their agency Access Agency explain the effect such a campaign could have across all channels.

Anyways here's their ideas:

Cool right?
