Passion Of The Craft.

Taking a huge leaf out of the Influencers documentary, Bandit, a creative agency from Copenhagen delves into the minds of trendsetters and tastemakers to find out how to create a winning brand. I love documentaries and interviews with truly creative and inspiring individuals, there are always words of advice and stories of experience to take on board.

This series looks to speak to independent fashion designers to CD of Supreme and even the marketing manager of Microsoft, showing that succeeding and relating to your audience is key in every industry. And the fact that some very lovely New York visuals are thrown in there too doesn't hurt.

Influencers: Steve Stoute

From the people that brought the inspiring Influencers film, R+I Creative are now developing a mini-series entitled In-Depth Series with this episode featuring Steve Stoute. Steve is the founder and CEO of Translation, a brand management firm that arranges strategic partnerships between Pop Culture icons and Fortune 500 companies. The only negative thing about this video is that I wish it was longer. But hopefully there is more to come as Steve speaks about the concept of cool, a concept that to me is undefinable, yet redefined at every turn. He then turns to the need for brands to become cool and influential and the need to attach themselves to cultural influencers. Celebrity endorsements is an area that can be exploited to much success (Beckham and Adidas) to just plain bad exploitation (Beckham and Sharpie). The need and want for a certain brand to appear cool or ‘in’ is more important than ever, but it needs to be appropriate for a long lasting enforcement of brand values. I’m excited to see more from this series, hearing from the intelligent and the influential is always inspiring and educational. Listen and learn kids, listen and learn. I am.

Be Inspired.

Be inspired. It's an amazing thing to be inspired and something that we should be searching for on a daily basis. Sometimes we search and find it. Sometimes it sneaks up on us and grabs us by the balls. Whether it be a line from a song, a line from a film, a picture, some art, a street performance, a sentence from a friend's conversation, a sentence from a stranger's conversation, whatever it is, it affects us. This Jim Jarmusch quote proves that nothing is original and that everything comes from something. Even the most unique and original idea that you can think of does not belong to one person. Andy Warhol, Michael Jackson, Jay Z, Steve Jobs, Einstein, none of these people can claim to have come up with an idea by themselves. Everything they have ever done will have been inspired by something or someone in some way or another. Picasso himself said "all art is theft" and historian Will Durant wrote, "nothing is new except arrangement". It's what you do and create with that inspiration that counts. 1% inspiration, 99% persperation.

Inspiration can change our opinion, force us to do something, drive us towards action. Feeling inspired makes you feel like you can achieve all and change the way your world and the outside world works.

This short film produced by French creative agency R+I explains where and who influence can come from, how it effects others and shapes culture.
