The Superbowl is not only the big show of the world's (actually, just America's) favourite sport, but it is also the big show for advertising. With advertising rates, reportaetly, reach a crazy $100,000 a second, it is only the big boys that can afford to play this game. And boy did they step up to the mark (is that a baseball reference? sorry). Here's a few of my favourites from this year.

Music Monday 34.
Here it is, the first Music Monday post of the new year. It's a bit quiet this time of year but I've managed to find a few musical gems for you.
Asher Roth & Nottz - Comin And Goin
It's been a little while since we've heard from our (probably second) favourite white rapper, Asher Roth. Like some artists that have big catchy tunes (I'm looking at you I Love College) sometimes lose their credibility, and I think that Asher has been caught under this. His debut album was surprisingly sharp and strong and was much more than back-up singles for ILC. Comin and Goin is off his latest EP Rawth featuring rapper Nottz and it's a great stop gap between albums, it's fresh, self-challenging, a bit gritter but still as addictive as his debut.
We Are The Ocean - What It Feels Like
I never expected WATO's new single to sound much like stuff from their massive EP or debut album, and I was right. It's still got the speed, melodic guitars and vocals versus smashing riffs and screams, yet it all feels a little too clean for me. It's still a good single, but it feels a little like their trying too hard, stay to what you know boys.
Eminem - Difficult
Wow, this is Eminem at his best. If his latest album Recovery was a massive step back in the right direction, then this track was a massive run, skip and jump for Marshall back to his best. It's a deep, dark and emotional story, exactly what our (probably) favourite white rapper does best.
Bon Iver - Flume (Lanny May Remix)
Similar to Das Kapital's rerub of Skinny Love this similar remix gives this track a whole new life. The Lanny May remix does just enough to rework the track whilst leaving enough in of the beautiful original. Maybe it's just the length of the track, but it lulls the listener into a melodic trance but the amount of space in this truly is wonderful.

Music Monday 28.
Ok so I've got quite a few songs this week so I'm gonna keep the chit chat short. And the fact that I'm being dragged out the door to go Christmas shopping doesn't help.
Ellie Goulding - Your Song
If you've been on my blog this week or anywhere near a TV this week you must have seen the new John Lewis advert. This Elton John cover, by Ellie Goulding is just pretty blooming lovely to be honest. It was going to be my tip for Christmas number one, but as it's already in the charts, I don't know if it can last. Especially when X Factor starts cranking them out, but still a lovely rendition.
Jay Electronica ft Jay Z - The Dream - Shiny Suit Theory
No sooner had Jay Z announced that Jay Elec had signed to Roc Nation, Jay Elec had produced The Announcement (see last week's MM), and no soon had we heard that, we heard this collaboration with the label's master, Jay Z himself. Unsurprisingly it's pretty up there. Simple horn section accompanied by some great word-play from the two Jays. Nice.
Eminem Ft Dr Dre - I Need A Doctor
This is simply a great introduction from Eminem to signal the comeback of Dre, hopefully an album we'll get to hear somewhen soon. Scroll down for Dre's first single.
Dr Dre Ft Snoop Dogg & Akon - Kush
Here's Dre's first single back proper. It's good, but no amazing in my opinion. But then any song that features Akon is never going to register high in my estimations. But surely it's a good sign of things to come.
Tinashe - Pieces Of Paper
You may of heard of this guy. If not, I'm sure you will. He appears to be pretty much king of producing lovely songs usually simply via his mouth and guitar. He does have some songs with higher level of productions, which are also worth checking out. Give his Youtube and Myspace a look and you won't be disappointed, lovely stuff.
Pogo - Wishery
Yeah I don't know anything about this song, it maybe old, maybe new. But I do know it's good, really good.
Atmosphere - The Best Day
I've used the word lovely too much today. But this is a lovely bit of hip-hop, the pop-iest hip hop you can get. Some simply piano, old-school vibes and feel good lyrics. Really nice stuff.

Quite A Foursome.
This was always one of my favourite tracks off of Eminem's Recovery album, and with it featuring Rihanna it was always going to be a single and a big single at that. Now the video has been released I think it requires a bit of attention. Not a massive amount, but a fair bit.
The cast is the main selling point to this video, obviously Eminem has his part as does the ever-stunning Rihanna, however there are two familiar faces on show. Charlie from Lost/Hobbit from LOTR short-man Dominic Monaghan is either beating up or snogging the ever-hot Megan Fox, the lucky chap. Oh and there's a lot of fire too.

Music Monday 10.
Jose Gonzalez - Far Away
Jose has been one of my favourite artists for years now, producing some of the best acoustic music I've heard. He's back with the track Far Away featured on the soundtrack of Red Dead Redemption. I think Jose will struggle to ever live upto Crosses or Heartbeats, but this song is simply beautiful and gives a real sense of calm. I hope a new album is on the horizon.
Mayer Hawthorne - Maybe So Maybe No
I know that this song was out last year, but I've recently really gotten into Mayer Hawthorne. The multi-talented DJ and producer who couldn't find any appropriate soul music to sample, decided to create his own. Just like that. The album is a wonderful piece of work and perfect to sit out in the sun with and enjoy.
Eminem Ft. Kobe - Talking 2 Myself
After Recovery leaked, I've given it a good listen. And wow, Eminem is back. The entire album, in particular Talking 2 Myself, is brutally honest. He pulls no punches as he apologies for the past albums and behaviour, promising to return to true Eminem form, "the new me is the old me" as he puts it. The album has a seriously strong start, this track featured in it, it then continues with colabs from Pink, Rihanna and Lil Wayne. It's a huge album, Eminem is truly back.
Kris Kross - Jump
This song is in no way new but it somehow stumbled back into my path this week. What a tune. That is all.

Music Monday 8.
In a week that has been filled with the last dregs of revision that I will ever have to do, it has been nice to be filled with A LOT of new and exciting music. New music has been creeping out of every side alley this week, therefore it's a HUGE update for you luck people this week.
Dallas Green - Nashville Skyline
Written solely for the finale of One Tree Hill, Dallas got together with friends Mark Schwahn, Matthew Ryan, Michael Grubbs and Courtney Jaye to produce this lovely track. Being his first new track since the release of Bring Me Love, it is unclear whether there is a new album on the horizon or if this track will feature on it. So instead of wondering, just have a listen and enjoy.
Caspa - Back For The First Time
After finding the DnB song of the summer in the shape of Medicin, the dubstep song of the summer has to be Caspa. This song does everything you want for a summer anthem. It's subtle rave beats work wonderful with the dub that is not too in your face but you have feel that it's there.
Kayne West - Power
Kayne is back. In a big way. I'm not saying that this is the best work that he's ever produced, yet this song is bound to be huge.
Uffie ft Pharrell Williams - Add Suv (Arman van Helden remix)
Another fantastic song for the summer. Pharrell and Uffie work so well together on this track and van Helden finishes it off just nicely. The tempo, beats and lyrics all fit in so nicely together that it simply becomes a huge tune, there is no other way of putting it.
Eminem - Not Afraid
Eminem is so hot and cold for me. When he produces tracks to the tune of Lose Yourself and Beautiful, you have to sit back and give him credit for incredible pieces of rap music. When you listen to Without Me you have to question his motives. Not Afraid is Marshall back to his best.
Arcade Fire - The Suburbs/Month Of May
After a long absence, Arcade Fire have treated us to a double bill of new tracks, The Suburbs and Month Of May. The Suburbs has to be my favourite of the two, but these guys are very much back and still producing some very special music.
Dan Black ft Kid Cudi
With a sample of Rihanna, this track combines the talent of these two men to great effect. Yet another colab for Cudi, stretching himself in every music direction to great success and admiration. When coupled with the video in the style of a film's opening credits, this is a great track.
